Pickleball is a sport that combines tennis, badminton and ping pong. It was invented in 1971 by a man named Bill Piehl. He wanted to create a new sport that would be easy for people to learn and play. The game is played with a paddle and a small ball. Players hit the ball back and forth over net lines that are placed on a table or court.
There are many different types of courts available for pickleball. Most courts are rectangular, but some are round. The courts have lines that extend out from the center of the table. These lines are called nets. The player must hit the ball into the opposing side’s court. If the ball hits the net, it is considered a fault.
The game of pickleball is played by two teams. Each team has three players. The players alternate hitting the ball back and forth across the net. There is no need for a set number of points. Each team is only trying to get their ball over the other team’s net.
To start the game, the players stand on opposite sides of the table. They hold their paddle in front of them at chest level. They then stand about one foot behind the net line. The first player takes his/her turn hitting the ball. They hit the ball as hard as they can. The ball should go into the opponents’ court. After each player hits the ball, the next person in line hits the ball. This continues until all three players have had a turn. Then the team changes sides.
Players score points when they hit the ball into the opponents’ court. A point is worth one point. When a player gets a point, he/she stands up and yells “Point!” The player who was just hit also stands up and yells “Point!”. This goes on until one team reaches 21 points. The team with the most points wins.
Pickleball is a fun sport to play. It is easy to learn how to play. You don’t need any special equipment. All you need is a good pair of shoes and a good attitude.
