Pickleball Basics

A game of pickleball can be played by two people or four. It is played on a court that has a net in the middle and two lines at each end. The object of the game is to hit a ball with a paddle, called a “paddle,” over the net into the other line. There are no rules as to how the ball should be hit; it can be hit in any direction, but must bounce once before going into the other line.

The game is played with two paddles. One paddle is used to hit the ball, and the other is used to return the ball. The paddles are similar to tennis rackets, except they have a flat top. A person stands behind one line and hits the ball with the paddle. The ball then goes back over the net and the player behind the other line returns it. The ball is returned when it bounces twice on the court. If the ball does not go into the other line, then it is put into play again. When a player’s serve is successful, he or she gets to choose which side to hit the next ball from.

The game is a lot like tennis, but it is easier to learn because there are fewer rules. It is a good exercise for people who want to get into shape, as it is an aerobic activity. Because it is played outdoors, it is also a good way to stay in shape during the summer. In addition, it is a great family sport because it is inexpensive, easy to learn, and fun to play.

If you decide to play, make sure you know the rules of the game before you start playing. Also, make sure you know what equipment you will need to buy. You can buy the paddles at your local sporting goods store or online. They cost around $50, depending on the brand.
